At Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery, we have been providing high quality English-language education and care for children aged 16 months to 6 years since 2012.
Our native English speaking and qualified Hungarian teachers follow a carefully designed curriculum developed by our own international research; covering practices used in Great Britain, the US and Hungary. We prepare our children to enter any school system, let it be International or Hungarian.
Our Philosophy
Love of nature and an awareness of our environment are emphasized and integral parts of the curriculum at Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery. Children are actively involved in maintaining our fruit trees, our vegetable patch and our flowerbeds. We teach children about recycling and composting. We re-use materials and dispose of organic waste by feeding it to our compost.
Our Villa
We are located in an elegant villa with safe, secure and suitable facilities in the heart of Buda with easy access from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 12th districts by car and by public transportation.
Our facilities include spacious classrooms with lots of natural sunlight, a very well equipped gymnasium, a children's library, a piano room and a speech therapy room.
We have a beautiful, grassy garden with fruit trees and a small vegetable patch for the children to use. The playground includes swings, two sand boxes, a barefoot exploration area, a climbing wall, a running track, a bike riding area, four play houses, a jungle gym and a slide. There is a separate outdoor play area adjoining the young nursery classroom exclusively for the littlest children.

Classroom Program
Apple Tree provides English language childcare and education. There are two teachers in each classroom at all times – a native English speaker and a Hungarian qualified kindergarten teacher who is fluent in English.

The classroom program includes:
Arts & crafts, stories, poems & drama, role play, singing & music, mathematics & science, outdoor play, celebrations
Library program
Daily mini gym session which are conducted in the classroom
2 times a week gym class in the gymnasium
2 times a week Hungarian class
Pre-literacy/Literacy program for the Pre-Kindergartenand Kindergarten groups
Field trips (3-5 times a year in the Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten groups)
Speech therapy for Hungarian speaking and English speaking children as needed (aged 4 and above).
Extra Activities

Nutrition
We provide a healthy, balanced menu of four meals each day. Breakfast is available between 8.30 am and 9.30 am. Around 10.30 am we serve fresh fruit or vegetables. Apple Tree provides a healthy 2-course catered hot lunch every day. In the afternoon, we offer a snack.
Filtered drinking water is available for the children throughout the day and we provide other healthy drinks as well, such as herbal/fruit tea, etc.
Environmentally Friendly
Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery has been awarded the status of Green Kindergarten meeting all of the standards and requirements set out by the Hungarian Museum and Library of Agriculture.
Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery has also been designated as a Bird Friendly Garden by the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society.
